New 101 by 1001

It seems like only yesterday I began my challenge of 101 Goals in 1001 Days (Completed in 2008).  In the last 3 years since I've worked toward acheiving other goals that hadn't yet been set or accomplished in the first round.  I uprooted life once again to Boston for grad school and as I come into my last year of school, I think about life after this is all over.  Where do I want to be?  What do I want to do?  Because that is always where my mind goes - is into the future.  I forget to focus on the now - the present- and live in the moment.  I had a moment a few weeks ago when I was watching NKOTBSB in Fenway Park (no other venue quite like it) and realized that I am exactly where I need to be at this time.  And so I decided to begin again on the 101 in 1001 (the Day Zero Project).  It's amazing to see how 2 1/2 years later things have changed in terms of priority and importance and how some of it has not. 

Without further ado, here is the list:

101 by 1001

Start Date: July 5, 2011

End Date: March 29, 2014

Professional Me:

1. Graduate from Masters

2. Present at a professional/academic conference

3. Acquire a full or part time job at a cheese store/Winery

4. Receive my CSW Certification

5. Receive my CSS Certification

6. Renew SWE Membership every year

7. Review WEST Certifications/Classes

8. Make a list of 5 jobs that I would like to do (to figure out what I want to do)

9. Get TIPS Certified (Keep it up)

Healthy/Spiritual/Financial Me:

10. Do the 10 Day Whole Living Exercise from June Magazine

11. Get cholesterol lowered to the 200 mark

     a. Starting point: 221
     b. Test this at least once a year in order to maintain

12. Lose 45 pounds by end of 2011

     a. Starting Weight: 221 lbs
     b. Maintain

13. Finish a 5K in 31:30 minutes (10:30 mile pace)

14. Finish a ½ marathon in 2 hours 30 minutes (11:30 – 11:45 pace)

15. Wave 1 of Sonoma Diet to wean off caloric intake

16. Try Yoga

17. Read Dali Lama

18. Finish Reading the Bible for Food/Wine References

19. Identify 100 Things that Make me Happy

20. Make a list of 10 Things I Deserve

21. Pay off my Car

22. Consolidate Student Loans once finished with grad school

23. Change VISA to better rewards system

24. See if I can lock in better interest rates for credit card(s)

Cooking/Wine-Loving Me:

25. Organize recipes for Tastebooks

26. Purchase 3 Tastebooks (with 100 recipes in each)

27. Learn to Filet Fish – Do it all by myself without flinching 

28. Help my Mom can/jam for a season

29. Try my hand at growing a vegetable garden (either in a yard or urban)

30. Make home-made vinegar

31. Try my hand at home-brewing

32. Schedule another session of Food Photography/Styling

33. Try Ethiopian Food

34. Make Dessert Once a Month

35. Buy an Expensive Champagne

36. Look into Beer Courses/Certifications

37. Keep trying Different Liquors each month to make different cocktails

38. Visit 10 Craft Breweries

39. Visit 10 Creameries

Adventurous Me:

72. Have an Entire Conversation in Spanish with Native Speaker

79. Genealogy Research on my Dad’s Side (Springfield MA)

82. Find a GOOD pair of walking shoes/sandals

83. Try to Donate Blood Once Again

84. Read about politics at least once a week

85. Write to my Congressman about at least 3 issues important to me (CARP ENTERING GREAT LAKES, ETC)

91. Own I Love Lucy (Seasons 5 and 6)

92. Own all of Gilmore Girls (Seasons 3 and on)

93. Watch an Opera

94. Attend Shakespeare Theater or Festival

95. Attend 5 Theater Shows (Broadway, National, Off, Community, etc)

96. Have Themed Movie Weekends Once a Month

97. Learn 10 Constellations and Go Stargazing

99. Take my niece and nephew to a full week of Alpenfest
