#8 - What Am I Going to Do for a Living?

I live in a generation that is perpetually unsatisfied with their work unless they are truly doing something they are passionate about.  I think it's hard for people to understand that doing something you love and getting paid for it are two things that are vital and necessary for life, and are achievable goals.  I understand that it's called "work" and a "job" because they are, but I still seek out ways to make a living and still enjoy it.  I can't really complain about my job now - I work for a great company, a great hotel, and great people, but I feel like my talent is wasted to a certain extent.  I feel like I could do more - I know this is how many people feel.  I however, refuse to live life in a rut or to play it safe as far as the career track goes.  I like making money, but I also would give it up (hmmm maybe) to do something I felt was making this education well worth it.  I decided to make a list of 5 jobs that I could potentially see myself doing, so without further ado.

- Work as an event planner/tasting room manager at a winery
- Work at a tourism bureau/convention provided that it was around wine country
- Continue working for hotels, but at a corporate level where I can continue to do training and development for Food and Beverage (good opportunities with Hilton)
- Work as an educator whether at a collegiate level or at a wine academy or even doing my own consulting
- Work at a museum doing special events and/or food&beverage exhibits (The Smithsonian has always been a dream of mine!)

Whew - there I said that one out loud.  Here's hoping I have a bright future ahead of me.  I secretly am hoping that I will find a rich man to marry me and then I really don't have to do anything but eat . . . ..
